Halifax 2011 Canada Games

Position: Volunteer Ambassador

Job Description:
We need you, and all of your friends, in just one short year to help put on the largest multi-sport event that Halifax has ever hosted. More than 5,000 volunteers will be needed from February 11-27, 2011 to form the backbone of the Games. From IT Services, to Mascot Support to Athlete Village Operations – there's something for everyone.

As we get ready to launch our games-time volunteer recruitment campaign, we're looking to add a few outgoing, people-oriented volunteers to the recruitment & selection team, to serve as Ambassadors. Ambassadors will attend various community events around Metro and surrounding areas to help spread the Games message and recruit volunteers. Training will be provided.

The first "call to action" for these roles will be during our one-year countdown events in February. The estimated time commitment is approximately 4-6 hours per month, depending on the number of events taking place in our communities each month.
