Position: Fitness Programmer

Job Description:
Position Title: Fitness Assistant
Direct Supervisor Program Manager, Fitness & Wellness
Department: Fitness and Wellness
Position Type: Auxiliary Part-time
Hours: 20-25 hours/week
Contract Term: 6 months to 1 yr

Job Summary
• Assists in the administration of drop-in and registered fitness and wellness programs.
• Maintains a high standard of professionalism, results-based programming and profitability in the Fitness and Wellness department.
• Provides administrative and clerical assistance to the Program Manager of Fitness and Wellness services including but not limited to:
a) keeping instructors and applicable departments informed re: class schedules
b) inputting programs into CLASS and assisting in the administration of registered and drop-in programs; tracks attendance numbers on a weekly basis
c) coordinates room rentals and user groups
d) quarterly inventory
e) organizes program surveys/feedback forms to track customer satisfaction
f) maintains current records i.e. contact lists, drop-in schedules, sub schedules etc.

• Researches current and emerging fitness industry trends.
• Ensures that fitness staff is kept apprised of company policies, systems and procedures necessary to achieve the organizational objectives.
• Assists in the development of and implementation of drop-in and registered fitness programs.
• Assists in the hiring of new instructors; includes helping to shortlist and audition potential candidates.
• Provides orientations for new instructors.
• Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.

Qualifications:
1. Minimum of grade 12
2. Current First Aid and CPR
3. BCRPA registration/Can Fit Pro Certification (or Equivalent) in Group Fitness is preferred. Additional fitness certifications an asset
4. Experience with CLASS software preferred
5. Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
6. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning financial and employee files
7. Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
8. Successful completion of Criminal Record Search
