Position: Men's Soccer Head Coach

Job Description:
The NAIT Athletics and Recreation Department invites applicants for the part-time position of Men’s Head Coaching position for a one year term effective February 4, 2013. This contract is renewable.

Our intercollegiate teams have established a rich tradition of student-athlete success that ranks NAIT as among the finest intercollegiate programs both in the Alberta Conference (ACAC) and in Canada (CCAA). Because of this, we are confident that NAIT student-athletes develop life skills of teamwork, commitment, discipline, and time-management that are valued throughout their careers.

Reporting to the Manager of Athletics, this position is responsible for organizing, developing and implementing a men’s soccer program that abides by NAIT’s Coaching Code of Conduct as well as the ACAC Code of Ethics. You will be responsible for the recruitment and development of players, coaching team practices and league games, coordinating team fundraising and developing a competitive program that encourages sportsmanship, integrity, teamwork and scholarship. The Head Coach in conjunction with the Athletics Manager will play a key role in motivating and mentoring student-athletes to succeed academically. This is a part-time contract position which requires after school hours, weekend work and some travel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years coaching experience (preferably at the post secondary, senior high school, or senior club level) and have demonstrated a high caliber of leadership, sportsmanship and coaching performance.

The ideal candidate will also have effective communication and administrative skills with an ability to motivate student-athletes. The preferred candidate will have a post secondary degree and have attained or be in the process of qualifying for level 2 NCCP Coaching Certification or equivalent. The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s license.

Contract remuneration is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
