Position: Senior Sport Physiotherapist

Job Description:
The Fortius Institute is seeking top sport medicine and exercise science practitioners from multiple disciplines who desire to work in an integrated environment, in a collaborative way and with an over-arching commitment to innovation. If you are a sport physiotherapist who is interested in joining a team where everyone is committed to best practices in prevention, performance, treatment, education and research and the delivery of integrated services and programs we would love to hear from you.

Role Summary
Provide therapy services for clients within the Fortius Institute. The Senior Sport Physiotherapist may also be actively involved in the development of Professional Practice programs and services for Fortius Sport and Health.

- Maintain expert knowledge of all Fortius Institute policies, procedures and protocols and College Guidelines
- Mentor Junior Therapists and other practitioners as required
- Participate and lead in department meetings, clinical training, and inservices
- Assist with evaluation of students and junior clinical staff
- Maintain a strong professional presence in the community
- Assist with assessing quality of patient care (chart audits)
- Participate in clinical studies and research activities as required
- Mentor new associate physiotherapists for probationary period
- Supervise students/interns as required
- Maintain the treatment area in a safe and clean manner
- Meets caseload expectations as mutually agreed on with therapy supervisor
- Charting done to policy manual and College expectations
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Other duties may be assigned as required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- A registered Physical Therapist in good standing with the College of Physical Therapists of BC and adequate malpractice insurance
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a practicing physical therapist working with athletes is required
- Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy or equivalent, or Residency in Manual Therapy
- Experience at the international level of sport, education and research/professional development
- Able to deal with issues with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality
