Position: Finance Manager

Job Description:
Bobsleigh CANADA Skeleton is the non-profit organization responsible for the management of the sports of Bobsleigh and Skeleton in Canada. Our mission is to develop World and Olympic Champions. We are currently searching for a Finance Manager to oversee our annual $4MM operating budget.

The role of the Finance Manager is to be responsible for all aspects of the financial management and the general administrative operations of the Federation while working in cooperation with the CEO, Treasurer, Board and Audit Committee. More specifically, the Finance Manager will maintain all accounts, prepare monthly reports, consult on the annual operating and event budgets, prepare financial submission to Sport Canada, maintain payroll and contractor payments, implement financial control and risk management procedures, international currency transactions, administer Athletes’ Trust and donation accounts and prepare all necessary reports for annual submission to the auditors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background in a not-for-profit environment and must be competent with Quickbooks and Exel. Proven management excellence in finance and administration is essential. The candidate will possess strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills. A willingness and ability to work within an environment where upon problems are solved, decisions are made and conflict is resolved.

This is a senior position within Bobsleigh CANADA Skeleton and requires an individual with the following minimum attributes:
• A minimum of four years of senior financial management is required, preferably in the not for profit sector;
• Extensive knowledge of Quickbooks, Exel and audit preparation;
• Post-secondary education or certification in finance, sport management, business, or a related field is required;
• Strong knowledge of government grant and finance protocol as asset;
• Knowledge of the Canadian sport system at the National Sport Federation is desirable;
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills. Compensation: This is a full time position with a benefits package. Salary Range $52,500 - $60,000 per annum
