Position: Youth 4-on-4 League Coordinator

Job Description:
All team members of Senators Sports & Entertainment are held accountable for creating raving fans.

Responsible for managing the overall success of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs Spring and Summer 4 on 4 leagues.


Essential Raving Fans Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Seeks ways to enhance the fan experience in unexpected ways.
• Empowered to say YES, creating raving fans of Senators Sports & Entertainment.
• Knows and lives SSE’s mission every day through service, teamwork, continuous improvement, change, and fun.
• Obsessed with client satisfaction, asking, “How can I exceed your expectations today?”
• Maintains consistency in attitude and behaviour, exceeding expectations.
• Works to make a specific impression on our clients. That impression is that of someone who is Wowed, Overly Satisfied and a Raving Fan.
• Approaches all tasks with a “can-do” attitude, understanding that there is no other kind of attitude.
• Notices and accurately interprets what clients are feeling, based on their words, tone of voice, expressions, and other nonverbal behaviour.
• Takes a personal interest in clients by asking about their concerns, interests, family, hobbies, etc. to develop relationships.
• Presents a cheerful, positive manner.
• Takes ownership and sees the client’s need through from beginning to end.
• Exercises appropriate judgment in handling client situations.
• Responds in a positive manner with alternative solutions when a client’s initial request is not possible.
• Shows initiative and takes action with an appropriate level of independence.

• Dealing with customer inquiries by email and phone
• Manage relationships between players, staff and parents in a professional manner
• Being the primary on-site contact for all parents and players during league hours
• Responsible for all Game Day duties which include, but are not limited to:
o Player/Goalie attendance and recruitment
o Dressing room assignments
o Scheduling
o Customer service
• Responsible for assisting with the developed of league schedule, team rosters and ensuring parity across all levels
• Directly responsible for the day to day management of staffing levels and scheduling (on-ice facilitators and timekeepers)
• Responsible for recording and communicating all statistical information
• Responsible for supervising all league staff
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator

• Must have very strong knowledge of the game of hockey and its rules, and be able to evaluate player abilities
• Must be available to work normal office hours (9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday) and to work evenings and weekends as requested
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Excellent problem solving abilities
• Proven customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Bilingualism would be considered an asset
• Strong planning & organizational skills
• Education in Sports Management/Sports Business an asset
• Experience coordinating leagues or tournaments an asset
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Team player
• Professional demeanor
• Strong work ethic
• Able to work under pressure and demonstrate ability to adapt to ever changing environment.
• First-Aid Training an asset

Duration of Position: January 2013 to August 2013
