Position: Director of Ticket Sales

Job Description:
Ensure all work activities are performed effectively, within time and budget parameters, and according to performance and quality standards.

Direct report for Sales Specialists regarding matters concerning the selling process, budgets, expenses, targets, proposals, and contracts. Promotion and sale of Edmonton Eskimo Football Club season seats, tailgate, group and any other Club promotional products. Develop and execute successful sales strategy and territory plans and targets. Create and manage successful ticket sales initiatives and campaigns.

Essential Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Manage Sales Specialists and ensure they have proper direction and targets are being achieved
• Create checks and balances to track progress of the sales specialists
• Develop sales forecasts and territory potential • Addition of new products and modification or deletion of present products to the line, based on understanding of customer needs
• Assist Director of Ticket Operations with the renewal of season seats
• Develop new business locally, regionally and nationally
• Maximize territory total revenue potential and attainment of all assigned sales objectives
• Aggressively solicit orders from present and prospective customers
• Continually search for new business by initiating contact with and developing relationships with decision makers within the new customer account
• Generate leads by cold calling and using consultative sales approach
• Ensure utmost quality customer service at all times
• Develop, recommend and present solutions to the customer
• Address customer issues / complaints in accordance with Club policy
• Maintain up-to-date customer records in accordance with Club policy and practices, and report all changes immediately
• Provide ongoing communication and feedback to the VP, Sales & Business Development
• Prepare and submit all required sales reports and other related administrative tasks
• Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conferences as required
• Proposal and contract creation and proofing of sales representatives alike
• Assist with inventories
• Create and maintain a successful fundraising program
• Planning of Ticket Drive Thru, City Appreciation Night, Minor Football Fundraising and all other Eskimo promotions associated to selling
• Build sales material
• Create presentation documents and material as necessary
• Create and maintain purchase order file
• Provide overall leadership for the entire ticket sales department
• Responsible for monitoring all sales including phone calls and appointments activity to achieve the overall sales goals and objectives

Competencies:

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of preparation and management of budgets
• Knowledge of the Club’s core value’s and culture
• Knowledge of the sports industry

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of five (5) years experience in ticket sales with a professional sports team
• Previous sales administrative support is required
• Good creative history of revenue generating ticket plans and strategies
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Willingness and understanding of working long hours, including some holiday’s and weekends
• Proven track record in ticket sales
• Excellent communication skills
• Post-secondary education in marketing or business, preferred but not required
• Continuing education & training to keep abreast of new developments and changing requirements
• Strong prospecting skills and building client relationships
• Assertive, self-starter
• Good personal organization and time management skills
• Strong Computer skills (e.g., MS Office, excel)
• Motivated, self-disciplined, personable and enthusiastic about the sport of football
• Must be able to operate in a highly dynamic environment where a premium is placed on contribution
• Drive and ability to develop new accounts
• Ability to understand why a prospect may not be moving ahead with a product, and addressing the issues effectively
• Ability to balance the needs of the customer with the needs of the business
• High level of integrity in dealing with customers and ability to represent the Edmonton Eskimo Football Club in a competent and professional manner
• Initiate creative, quality presentations that promote and reflect the core values and the image of the Edmonton Eskimo Football Club.
