Position: Digital Manager
Be a part of building and servicing a national brand. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence. We are the largest private supporter of high performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.
The COC is seeking a dynamic individual to join its Toronto office. The newly created role of Digital Manager leads the day-to-day management of the Canadian Olympic Committee's consumer facing web, mobile and social channels. Reporting to the Director, Digital Strategy, this role acts as the 'guardian of engagement' for all Canadian Olympic Digital experiences, ensuring that the digital ‘face’ of everything we do mirrors our strategic intentions.
Core Responsibilities and Priorities: • Champion the highest standard in digital experiences across our properties • Re-launch and manage Olympic.ca, including quality control, measurement, reporting, content implementation and user experience • Launch and manage mobile web and native mobile apps • Launch and manage digital innovation programs involving ecommerce, streaming media, Social-CRM and email marketing • Coordinate with internal and external partners to implement initiatives • Develop project overviews, project plans and schedules • Plan Social Media and Community Management programs
Qualifications and Critical Skills: • Genuine passion for Digital User Experience – you gotta’ love this stuff! • Minimum 5 years experience managing consumer-facing web sites, social media and mobile applications (digital agency or client side digital marketing function) • Strong knowledge of online measurement strategies, tools, and technologies • Demonstrable results from digital you’ve worked on and/or led (be prepared to show the properties from your past, with details on your exact roles) • Comfortable acting as the day-to-day linchpin for digital decisions (with continual lifeline to the Director, Digital Strategy) – naturally able to balance between strategic intent and tactical realities • Bachelor’s degree or relevant educational parallel in marketing/digital • Excellent communicator, written and verbal - able to present and sell ideas • Enough natural project management ability and/or experience to be successful stretching limited resources across an ambitious agenda • Enough technical knowledge to provide effective oversight on operations, especially with WordPress • Fluency in French is an asset, but not required • Sports experience is a bonus. Sports passion is essential.
