Position: Communications Coordinator

Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with day-to-day media interaction with players and coaches at team practices, games and events
• Assist with the creation and distribution of team press releases
• Lead the development and execution of the organization’s social media strategies
• Provide frequent maintenance of the team’s official website
• Assist with the development and production of video and written content for the team’s official website
• Maintain photo archives of games and other team events
• Research and cultivate opportunities for increased media coverage of players, coaches and business initiatives
• On gamedays, serve as liaison with media, photographers, stats crew as well as team volunteers
• Lead the development of the team’s media guide, game notes, player biographies and other publications

QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent writing skills and ability to edit press releases and other publications
• Ability to perform duties in a timely and efficient manner in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact professionally and cordially with media and business partners
• Excellent organizational skills with specific attention to detail
• Willingness to work flexible hours, on numerous weekends, and on various holidays, due to the nature of professional sports
• High level of knowledge of social media, specifically Facebook and Twitter
• Familiarity with the Canadian Football League preferred
• Strong grasp of Microsoft Office Suite programs required
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop preferred
• Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Sports Administration or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
