Position: Administrative Assistant
The Gatineau Diving Club (CPG) is seeking a part-time administrative assistant who will handle the administration of the Club under the supervision of the head coach and the Board.
Formally established in 1998, the Gatineau Diving Club (CPG) is the only diving club in the Outaouais region and serves the fourth largest city in the province of Quebec. With a population of over 250 000 people, Gatineau forms in conjunction with Ottawa, the National Capital, the fourth largest metropolitan area in the country with a population of more than one million.
Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: • Perform and coordinate administrative tasks related to the club; • Administer the recreational diving program; • Assist in various projects as needed and assume various responsibilities; • Organize travel of team members to attend events; • Provide a high quality service to customers and monitor customer satisfaction; • Develop, coordinate and keep up to date information published on the Club’s website; • Assist in the planning and organization of events or activities.
Qualifications: • Post secondary education in business administration or equivalent; • At least three years of varied administrative experience (office management and budget, research and information management); • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), in French and English; • Experience in book keeping is an asset.
Skills and qualities: • Great customer focus in order to understand, interpret and anticipate customer needs; • High capacity to adapt, to be creative and to take the initiative; Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities, and willingness to deal with last minute requests; • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines; • Interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and ability to handle difficult situations with good judgment and tact; • Strong team spirit; • Ability to generate new ideas for continuous improvement by working closely with colleagues, customers and key intermediates; • Strong ability to work within a team of volunteers (Board of directors, events) and to manage parenting interventions; • Excellent judgment.
