Position: Development Programs Coordinator

Job Description:
General Description
Ultimate Canada, the national sport organization for the sport of Ultimate, is looking for an energetic, self-starter to fill the role of Development Programs Coordinator.

The Development Programs Coordinator is responsible for the administration of Ultimate Canada’s development programs. In addition to administering existing development programs, the development coordinator will also be charged with creating new development programs and resources to support Ultimate Canada’s strategic plan. The position reports to the Ultimate Canada Executive Director.

• Administer current development programs including the National Coaching Certification Program and National Training Camp program
• Support the expansion of existing development programs
• Lead the creation of new development programs including national initiation programs for children and youth
• Administer the implementation of Ultimate Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development model and pilots to refine the model
• Create new resources to support Ultimate Canada’s development programs and junior programs across Canada
• Support the Ultimate Canada Development Committee.
• Support the executive director with other duties and projects as they arise

The successful candidate will possess the following mandatory qualifications:
• Several years experience working or volunteering with youth Ultimate programs
• Technical knowledge of Ultimate
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to organize work and to multitask
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• A high level of comfort with office computing and Internet technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends as required

The following assets are considered desirable, but are not required:
• Degree and/or or several years experience in sports administration, management, kinesiology, or similar discipline
• Experience with graphic design and/or web design
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both official languages
• Based out of Ottawa, ON or Victoria, BC

Additional Information
Requirements: Must currently be legally entitled to work in Canada
Hours: 10-20 hours/week. Hours are flexible, but may require occasional weekend work. Please note that this position may be combined with the Membership Coordinator position.
Term: February 11, 2013 to December 31, 2013
