Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Rugby Canada is seeking two Physiotherapists / Athletic Therapists to work with the National Senior Men’s (NSM7’s) and Women’s 7’s (NSW7’s) Teams (one per team). The physiotherapists / athletic therapists will be the main provider of professional therapy treatment to Rugby Canada’s senior men’s and women’s 7’s players, having full responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the therapy services to the teams both at the Centre of Excellence (COE) and also at tournaments played at various locations throughout the year. In doing so, the physiotherapists / athletic therapists will ensure that the players’ risk of injury is minimized and their recovery and rehabilitation from injury is maximised.

OBJECTIVE

The Physiotherapist / Athletic Therapist, NSM7’s Team and Physiotherapist / Athletic Therapist, NSW7’s Team have a primary role, under the guidance of the Manager, High Performance to ensure the optimum injury prevention, rehabilitation and availability of National Senior 7’s team players (and other players training at the Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence) to prepare and succeed on the World Stage (IRB World Series, Olympics, etc.).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES

The Physiotherapist / Athletic, NSW7’s Team and Physiotherapist / Athletic Therapist, NSM7’s Team will be responsible for performing the following roles and/or delivering the following outcomes.
• Delivery of therapy services to NSM7’s and NSW7’s Team players and other players based at the COE
• Provision of match day (tournament) physiotherapist / athletic therapist services for the NSM7’s and NSW7’s Team
• Work as part of an integrated support team for the NSM7’s and NSW7’s Team

GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS

The appointed individual must be able to display an ability to work during periods of extended hours including weekends and evenings. The selection emphasis will be based upon the applicant’s knowledge, skills and attributes to drive Rugby Canada’s player welfare program.

A current valid driver’s license and a passport are essential requirements. At times the role requires a commitment to extensive international travel periods.
