Position: Associate Athletic Director of Sport & Student Wellness

Job Description:
Keyano College is currently seeking an energetic, experienced and student success oriented individual to assume this management position within Huskies Athletics as they compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference as a member of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association. As part of the leadership team of the Sport & Wellness Department, the Associate Athletic Director plays an integral role in the operations of our facility, programing, events, compliance, recruitment, retention, coach mentorship, conference development, budget management and revenue generation. Responsibilities will begin July 2nd 2013 or at negotiated date to be determined.

Reporting to the Director of Sport & Wellness, our Associate Athletic Director will be responsible for the for direct supervision and performance management of all off campus coaching staff, each with unique responsibilities and demands within the student success model of Keyano College. All recruiting, player management, athlete leadership, coach mentorship, brand promotion support, athlete awards protocols, stakeholder relations, and all compliance related matters including transfer and eligibility requirements of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference are considered major responsibilities. Competitive Excellence, Budget Management, Huskies Policy Development, Coach Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement, Conference Compliance, Jr. Huskies Club and Athletic Scholarship administration are considered primary job duties.

The Associate Athletic Director shall address and move forward relevant athletic department points of emphasis within the departmental strategic plan.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Sport Administration, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Social Sciences or Business with 5-10 years of involvement at College, University, and National or Professional level. Complete NCCP Level 3 (or equivalent) is considered an asset. The incumbent will have excellent communication skills, organizational skills and time management skills and be able to handle multiple priorities and tasks, including budgetary demands.


Salary Range: $81,658.00 per annum plus an attractive benefits package.
