Academic start salaries are determined by qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the current Collective Agreement for Academic Employees.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses within the Sport Management and Recreation and Leisure Services Programs. Specifically the incumbent will be asked to provide instruction in the following areas: Public and Media Relations, League and Tournament Management, Event Management, Financial Management, Volunteer Management/Fundraising, and Sales and Marketing. The incumbent will develop lesson plans, deliver the learning outcomes for the assigned course, develop and administer student assessment tools including tests and assignments, communicate with students and enforce the academic policies of the School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s Degree (PhD preferred) in Sport and/or Recreation Studies and possess work experience in the recreation/sport industry at the managerial level. In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated teaching ability, an understanding of the learning process, and be dedicated to student success. Due to the nature of the role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
