Position: Personal Trainer - Senior Specialist

Schedule: Monday – Friday, work to job completion, evenings and weekends required.
Exemption: Overtime Exempt
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can help get our seniors moving! If you have experience in teaching group exercise classes with dance or Zumba and can modify it to suit our senior population we want you! The Group Ex Instructor/Personal Trainer reports to the Fitness Coordinator and Director of Fitness and Memberships. This position is responsible for ensuring every client experiences the highest caliber of classes and personal training available. Group Ex Instructors/Personal Trainers will maintain member and client relationships with an enthusiastic, knowledge and professional approach to customer service, classes and personal training sessions. The wage range is $20 to $40 per hour for one on one class/session depending on education and experience. Other responsibilities:
? Develop and deliver safe, technically sound and tailored group exercises classes for our senior population.
? Develop and deliver safe, technically sound and tailored individual and small group strength and conditioning programs for both seniors and the general population.
? Complete fitness assessments.
? Teach specific skills to clients through progressive training development and sharing of knowledge.
? Provide sound advice, guidance and referral services on fitness, health and wellness.
? Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies and program space.
? Ensure safe use of weight room equipment and proper technique.
? On-going, detailed monitoring on the progress of clients.
? Encourage and promote classes, personal training and C JCC programs and services.
? Attend in-service training and meetings with supervisors or clients.
? Remain current on fitness, health and wellness topics.
? Successfully complete and update required certifications.
? Able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
? Follow and enforce all CJCC policies, rules and regulations while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
? Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
? Inform the appropriate staff immediately of any problems, concerns or emergencies.
? Proven track record of working independently and in a team environment.
? Access to at least $2 million liability insurance through certification.
? Perform other duties as requested by the Fitness Coordinator and Director of Fitness and Membership. Certifications/Registrations required:
? Completion of a University degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education or related field or equivalent certifications and experience.
? Consideration may be given to candidates who hold or are currently enrolled in a recognized certification program for seniors.
? Currently hold one of the following Certifications: NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSEP Certified Personal Trainer, CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist, or approved equivalent.
? Valid Standard First Aid Certification and CPR Level C.
Knowledge & Skill Base:
? CSEP-CPT Certification.
? Sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives, individual fitness and strength training.
? Able to conduct fitness assessments.
? Skilled in the operation of a variety of weight training equipment.
? Strong leadership, communication, and motivation skills.
? This position will require physical exertion.
? Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
