Position: Rugby Canada - Volunteers Wanted

Job Description:
CANADA VS IRELAND

Saturday, June 15, 2013 – BMO Field, Toronto

On June 15th 2013, Canada's Senior Men's Team will face rugby giants Ireland in what will be a blockbuster match! The hard work and dedication of our volunteer team is essential in ensuring that both the fans and athletes have a memorable experience. Rugby Canada is seeking the support of a number of volunteers in a variety of roles.

Volunteers will be expected to attend a mandatory orientation and accreditation meeting, which will take place on June 15th at 2:00PM. All positions are outdoors, regardless of the weather! Shifts will begin once orientation has concluded and will finish at roughly 12:00AM depending on the area of service. Volunteers are provided with:

• Orientation/Training
• Event T-Shirt and accreditation
• Meal, snack & beverages

Doping Control: 1 Liaison and 4 Chaperones. Must be male and at least 18 years of age.

To oversee and chaperone players once they have been selected for testing by Doping Control staff. Volunteers are required to stay post-game until all tests are complete.

Porters/Runners: at least 3 Crewmembers. Must be male 18 years of age or 14+ & working with adult partner. Pre-game setup, half time and post game maintenance of change rooms, team bench areas for water, ice, plus other duties as required.

Spotters: 3 Crewmembers.
Working with the Public Address Announcer the spotters will relay rulings and calls made by officials. Assist with player’s names and description of the action on the field of play. Good command of the English language and rugby terminology is required.

Hospitality Will Call: 1 Crew Chief and 12 Crewmembers. Must be over 18 years of age Volunteers will be placed in teams of 2 or 3 depending on the access point and placed at one of two gates at the field. Will be dealing with ticketing for hospitality and VIP clients.

Promotions Crew: 2 Crew Chief and 20 Crewmembers. 18 years of age is preferred but mature teens paired with adult volunteers would be considered.

Volunteers will help to run the fan zone set up at the stadium and will hand out event programs and other promotional material at the gate and throughout the crowd.
