Job Description:
2013 ITU World Duathlon Championships
August 9-11th, 2013 – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

This coming August 9th-11th, Ottawa will be hosting the 2013 ITU Duathlon World Championships. This duathlon will be the first multi-sport international event held in Ottawa and will feature more than 750 elite and age group champion athletes from over 40 countries. In addition to the World Championships, local athletes are welcome to participate in the Open Duathlon Race and Open 5km Run.

The 2013 ITU World Duathlon Championships is seeking the support of volunteers in a variety of roles on Race Day (August 10th) and throughout the rest of the weekend (August 9th-11th). The hard work and dedication of our volunteer team is essential in ensuring that we have a successful event. The Ottawa Duathlon is a great opportunity to gain experience, develop skills, be part of a dynamic team, contribute to the community and take part in an international sporting event.

All volunteers will be provided with:

• Orientation/Training
• Event T-Shirt
• Meal, snack and beverages
• Opportunity to interact with world championship athletes

Event roles include:

• Pre-event activities (ex: race kit packing, registration, race expo etc.)
• Race Day (August 10th)
o Course preparation (ex: set up, start/finish line, signage etc.)
o Registration
o Water Stations
o Awards Ceremony
