Position: Assistant Supervisor of Sport Camps

Job Description:
Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Sports Camp Supervisor, the position of Assistant Sports Camp Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the administrative tasks required to maintain a safe and enjoyable camp program which meets the requirements of attendees, parents, staff and Department of Athletics.

Primary Duties
1. Works in conjunction with the Sports Camp Supervisor to plan, supervise and review the delivery of sports camp and recreation day activity to over 5000 children annually.
2. Monitors that staffing levels are equivalent to those set by the Intramural and Camp Coordinator and ensures that adequate staff are allocated to all groups at all times to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all sports camp groups but within budget parameters.
3. Supervises all instructional staff and ensures that all Sports Camp policies, including staff, uniform, supervision, instruction, customer service and safety are being adhered to and that all staff are following the sports camp code of conduct at all times.
4. Allocates staff to individual sports camp groups in accordance with facility and staff availability, using the plan of activities defined by the Sports Camp Supervisor.
5. Prepares daily group lists for all camps and school groups including all relevant medical information for each child. Ensures lists are up to date and take into account group requests and camper to staff ratios.
6. Liaises with the Aquatics Coordinator to allocate appropriate individual staff to individual duties within the pool area.
7. Plans and prepares modules for camp staff training as required by the Sports Camp Supervisor and Intramural and Camp Coordinator.
8. Takes a weekly inventory and advises Intramural and Camp Coordinator and Equipment Manager on required purchases of replacement sports equipment, first aid supplies, consumables and all items required to ensure that all camp programs have the necessary supplies.
9. Acts as the main initial contact point for registration enquiries for camps and rec day programs, maintaining a service level of a response to all inquiries within one working day or less. Follows up all enquiries and assists and facilitates registration within the appropriate program.
10. Maintains and updates essential mailing and contact lists for all programs and contacts people on lists to advise on registration opportunities and deadlines.

Salary Range: $16/hour to $17/hour
