The clock is ticking on the new Not-For-Profit Corporations Act! Rachel Corbett and her team from the Sport Law & Strategy Group are working with over 30 NSOs and MSOs on their preparations for compliance with the new legislation. This new law presents an unprecedented opportunity for federally-incorporated sport organizations to modernize their governance structures and practices. This webinar will cover the Act and its implications for national sport bodies, and will share what we are learning from our work so far with other sports. After this webinar, you will have a clearer idea of what you need to change, and can make a plan for moving towards compliance (and better governance) successfully.

"Board Evaluation"  (free of charge)
Presented in English by Judy Sutcliffe, The Sutcliffe Group Incorporated

Evaluating board performance, both of the group and of individual directors provides an opportunity for the board to assess its own effectiveness, to identify areas of strength and weakness, to set standards and performance expectations based on set criteria, to evaluate individual member performance, and if necessary, to develop remedial plans. When is the right time to do Board evaluation? Who should do it and how should it be done? Is there any relationship between the type of Board you have (Administrative, Management, Policy or Policy Governance) and how you should do evaluation? And what do you do with the results once the evaluation has been completed? These are some of the topics that will be covered in the webinar "Board Evaluation".
