Canadian Sport for Life
As society continues to recognize the importance of keeping healthy, it is important to recognize sport for life through long term athlete development (LTAD) models. LTAD and Active for Life not only helps create stronger and more talented athletes, but also helps to encourage a lifestyle of staying active and fit as we age. These models acknowledge physical, mental, and cognitive development at different stages of life so as to make sure the participants are enjoying sport and continue to participate as they get older, whether it is competitive or recreational.
For year round resources check out the models, articles, and leading resources on the SIRC LTAD online resources.
SIRC has compiled the following articles to help you learn more about Canadian Sport for Life, LTAD and their importance in our schools and sport communities.
