Culture, Education, Sport and Ethics Program (CESEP)

Sport is important to all of us, not only in play, but when competing in organized, competitive sport at all levels. Teaching our youth about the true spirit of sport will in the long run help protect sport by keeping it healthy. This is what the CESEP program is all about.

The CESEP Program is a global program intended to shape attitudes and values of youth in over 100 countries around the world by tapping into school networks, targeting teachers, counselors and their students, aged 6-18, with a focus placed on younger students below the age of 15. The program is intended to have students discuss and exchange ideas about the values and culture of sport and competing clean on a level playing field. Students are encouraged to prepare brief essays, poems or art work, with several chosen for publication in a book to be released in early 2008.

Some of the work will also be included for display in Beijing at the 2008 Olympic Games at the Beijing Fine Arts Museum. More information is outlined on the CESEP website at; http://www.cultureandsport.com.

This program has been created by Justice for Athletes (JFA), with a generous grant from Bank Of America. More information on JFA can be found at; http://www.jfaonline.org.

Dr. Ungerleider acknowledged that much of our success is no doubt related to our close partnership with the Sport Information Resource Center (SIRC), the largest sport resource center in the world. With the strong support of SIRC and their network of over 70 countries, we are able to reach many countries and regions around the world.

CESEP is also pleased to announce that we are offering limited edition Spirit of Sport posters produced by the World Anti-Doping Agency to the first 500 registrants free of charge. These posters characterize and promote important values of sport, using elite, world class athletes. It is our hope that they can be displayed in schools to motivate and remind all of us of the important values of sport.

We encourage all teachers to get involved and register right away. It is easy to do and there is no cost involved. Simply log on to our CESEP website:

www.cultureandsport.com

Learn more about the program and get your students talking about healthy sport in a fun and engaging way. Working together we can teach our youth about the value of sport and what it means to all of us.

For further information on CESEP and how you can get involved, most answers can be found by checking out this website. If you wish to contact us directly, please email us directly at; suinteg@attglobal.net and we’d be pleased to respond.

Yours in Sport,

The CESEP Team
