SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Award
SIRC (Sport Information Resource Centre) and the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) are proud to announce the 2008-09 SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Award recipients. This year, 145 student-athletes have achieved combined excellence in collegiate athletics and academics.
The SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Award is the CCAA’s most prestigious student-athlete award, epitomizing our mandate of recognizing excellence in academics and athletics. To achieve this honour, a student-athlete must be named to his/her respective PCAA All-Star teams (1st and 2nd) in a CCAA Sport, and must achieve a GPA standing of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
The SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Recognition Award is also presented each year to the institution with the most student-athlete award recipients. This year, SIRC and the CCAA are pleased to present the award to Mount Saint Vincent University and Red Deer College who each have a total of six (6) recipients best combining academic and athletic excellence. 
SIRC’s President and CEO Debra Gassewitz attended Mount Saint Vincent University’s 11th Annual MSVU Athletics Initiatives Dinner on Friday April 9, 2010 to present Mount Saint Vincent University student-athletes with the SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Award and Mount Saint Vincent University with the SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Recognition Award.

SIRC’s COO David Roberts will attend Red Deer College’s Awards Banquet on Wednesday April 14, 2010 to present Red Deer College student-athletes with the SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Award and Red Deer College with the SIRC-CCAA Academic All Canadian Recognition Award.
