Ask a SIRC Librarian
Dear SIRC Librarian:
I was wondering if you knew where I can contact our Canadian Athletes competing in Vancouver. Is there a database with all the athletes contact information? Is it available to the general public? The Paint the Town Red program suggests sending a letter or emailing the athletes but I can’t find their addresses. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Beth
Hello:
Hi Beth,
There are many ways you can contact Canadian Olympic Athletes. Athlete profiles are available on the CTV and the COC website (see below), both sites allow you to send comments to the athletes. Another option is to check with the National Sport Organization of the athlete.
CTV Athlete Profiles: http://www.ctvolympics.ca/athletes/country=CAN/index.html
COC Athlete Profiles: http://www.olympic.ca/en/athletes/
To my knowledge there is not a database that provides the contact information for each athlete available to the public, however an athletes’ personal website often has contact information including an email address.
You can also follow the athletes and send a message on Facebook and Twitter at:
Canadian Olympic Team Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/canadianolympicteam?sid=81e9eb5a1d1ae4e5f05f84cade417e24&ref=search
CDNOlympicTeam Twitter: http://twitter.com/CDNOlympicTeam
Good luck!
