Pregnancy and Sport

Exercising during pregnancy is becoming more popular as it has been known to limit weight gain during the pregnancy, help with delivery and make returning to exercise after the birth much easier. With the increase in the number of female athletes, pregnancy in sport has become a hot topic as it raises a number of legal, ethical, medical and even insurance issues. With so much research being done in this area SIRC is pleased to share with you some of the most recent material covering everything from being active during pregnancy to training while pregnant.

In fact, consistent exercise will help clients as they prepare for childbirth and, later, as they return to pre-pregnancy activity levels.

Ask A SIRC Librarian

SIRC members have access to SIRC librarians and we are pleased to share some of your questions.

Dear SIRC Librarian:
I am working on a bid project for hosting a national event in Canada. I was curious as to whether SIRC has access to any previous bids relating to national events in Canada or other countries. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Take Care,
George
