SIRC Travels to Regina, Fredericton and Winnipeg!

This month SIRC will be traveling to Regina, Fredericton and Winnipeg. Brandie Adams, SIRC’s Reference Librarian and Kim Cook, Communications Coordinator, will be going on a national tour to help coaches, physical trainers and sport groups learn how to maximize SIRC’s sport resources.

This week-end Ms Adams will be traveling to Regina for SaskFit 2007 held at the University of Regina Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport. SIRC will be present at the Fitness Fair on November 2-4, 2007. SaskFit 2007 is Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (S.P.R.A.) Provincial Fitness Leadership Conference.

The goal is to ensure teacher/coaches, trainers and sport groups know:

• SIRC librarians are available to help,
• the SIRC library collection is searchable on-line and
• registered members can easily get the full-text.

SIRC will then head to the East Coast, attending the New Brunswick Sport Leadership and Fitness Summit held at the Fredericton Inn on November 16-17, 2007. The NB Sport Leadership and Fitness Summit is a joint conference of Fitness NB Physical Education Society and Sport NB to provide professional leadership to members of the sport and fitness community.

The following week-end Ms Adams and Ms Cook are traveling west to Winnipeg. On November 22nd, 2007 SIRC will be hosting a luncheon for Manitoba’s Provincial Sport Organizations, to meet and answer question regarding SIRC resources. The following day they can be found at the Marketplace for the Manitoba Physical Education Teachers Association (MPETA) Semi- Annual Meeting held at the Kildonan East Collegiate.
