Ask a SIRC Librarian

Question:

Dear SIRC Librarian:

I am a member of SIRC and was wondering if there is a fee to view/read articles on line? I wanted to research information on reverse periodization and found a list of 3, but could not figure out if I had to order a copy to view the full document.

Thanks

Michele,

Provincial Coach

Answer:

Dear Michele:

Thank you for submitting your question to Ask-A-Librarian. To answer your question, because you are already a member of SIRC there is not a fee to view/read articles online. Many articles are available on-line and you can click on them immediately. SIRC also has numerous articles in its collection that can be requested via the order form for fax/mail delivery (these articles are not yet available for electronic delivery). The delivery of these articles is included in your membership fee.

I noticed that your list only had three documents. To increase your results for reverse periodization you may want to search "Periodization training." It is my understanding that reverse periodization and periodization may be used interchangeably by some in the sporting community. By using the broader term it will give you approximately 1730 document hits. You can then add "reverse" if you choose or you can add a specific sport, etc. to narrow your search further.

For example if you were interested in swimming periodization training you may find documents such as:
