New Updates for SIRC Press Release Service

OTTAWA : August 30, 2006: SIRC is very pleased to announce a new look and feel for the SIRC Press Release Service. Since 1998 SIRC has been the communication hub for sport related press releases. With over 3,500 press releases sent annually, the service has evolved into the leading communication tool for sport groups in Canada.

People who want to keep their fingers on the pulse of sport information receive daily updates from SIRC. SIRC provides a free daily press release distribution service for sport organizations. Across the country, athletes, coaches, volunteers, administrators, media, students and professionals in sport depend on their updates to keep them current and informed on the activities of the sporting industry. The focus of the service is to provide educational, informative announcements that benefit the sporting community rather than sales announcements. SIRC collects and qualifies the daily announcements, then distributes them to SIRC’s registered users in a single, easy-to-read summary format including the links to the press releases. The press releases are distributed as published to SIRC in the language provided to SIRC and then posted on the SIRC websites at http://www.sirc.ca/news_service.cfm and http://www.canadiansport.ca/news. With over 3.5 million hits per month and over 250,000 visitors each month, the SIRC distribution service and websites are key resources for sport information.
