The SIRC City Race is a fun event in which teams of one or more people from an organization, club or team, race around downtown Ottawa in friendly competition with other teams. Participants strive to complete the athletic or brain teasing task at each Pit Stop and arrive at the final destination by a certain time.
Teams will travel to multiple locations around Ottawa by walking approximately 10 000 steps. All participants will be provided with a pedometer to monitor the steps during the race. The questions or activity at each destination will have the team perform a task, either together or by a single member. These challenges are related in some manner to Sport and Physical activity.
Teams can go to the Pit Stops in any order they wish and must make it to the final destination before time runs out. Regardless of where you are in the course at 1pm, you are invited to return to the final destination for festive networking with fellow participants at the Sport Matters sponsored lunch.
- The first 3 teams to arrive and have all tasks and questions from each Pit Stop completed will receive a SIRC City Race prize package.
- Team photos will be entered in Canada’s national sport library database.
- All completed team passports will be entered into a draw to take place during the Sport Matters sponsored lunch at 1-1:30pm. Proceeds raised through registration will be equally divided and go to benefit the charity and/or sport club identified on the 2 winning completed passports drawn.
